BLITHE Inbetween Makeup Prep Essence is part of 4 new products launched by BLITHE to be used under your make-up. I like the bright colorful packaging from this line and think it is very adorable yet relatable to the rest of the BLITHE lines.
Claims from the manufacturer:
The Makeup Prep Essence is an innovative, lightweight serum that creates a sheer, protective layer on the skin’s surface.
It locks in moisture, preventing makeup from clogging pores, and skin discoloration.
Suitable for all skin types, this nourishing formula leaves the skin looking smooth, healthy and radiant.
Directions from the manufacturer:
After cleansing and toning, smooth a pea-sized amount of essence into hands and gently pat onto damp skin. Follow with any of the InBetween Priming Creams to prep skin for a truly uniform and flawless finish before makeup.

My experience:
BLITHE Inbetween Makeup Prep Essence has been very friendly to my skin. I did apply int for an entire month on the days when I used my BB Cream or foundations and results were quite good. I can not say I noticed much in terms of prolonging wearing time of my make-up. the biggest difference it made to my skin was that it remained well hydrated through-ought the day.
I have purchased several products from Blithe when they were on a 50% off deal via Beautybay. I was quite surprised to see blithe on sale as it seems to be never on sale! Oh well, you know me, I went nuts and stocked up on my favorite essences and took a chance to try out 3 out of 4 pressed serums from this brand. The reviews will be coming out somewhere before spring here on my blog so don’t forget to drop by.
Now, back to the essence! The Inbetween Makeup Prep Essence is part of 4 new products launched by BLITHE to be used under your make-up. I like the bright colorful packaging from this line and think it is very adorable yet relatable to the rest of the BLITHE lines. The essence comes in a bright pink plastic container with a dropper. Ampoule-style bottle holds 30 ml of the product (booo, why so little?). Considering the price I do think it is very little. As I am an ampoule- kind-of-girl I go quite fast through these types of product and it is also the case with the Makeup Prep Essence. After using it for a month I am half way through. Considering the fact that other primers last me much longer than that I am left disappointed.
Once applied on my skin the product sinks in very fast into my skin leaving a light tacky finish on my skin. My make-up grips onto it very well. there is no budging or smudging present for the first half of the day, but as always, thanks to my oily skin, my make-up starts to migrate on my skin after 6 hours or so. Unfortunately to me, same happens wether I have sed this primer or not. The texture of this product is light and somewhat watery and it has a subtle fresh floral scent to it.
I do like how my skin feels “still hydrated” by the end of the day. I don’t think I will repurchase this product in the future as for me primer’s main priorities have to be aimed at improving the longevity of my make-up. this is not the case with this primer. It feels nice on the skin, smells good, moisturizes my skin and prevents the moisture loss but that is not what I am personally looking for in primers. If you have a dry skin, you may benefit from this product much more than I did.
Pros:
+ Lovely fresh floral scent
+ Contains ceramide, niacinamide, phospholipids, squalane and cholesterol
+ Great skin firming primer
+ Smooths out the skin without drying it out
+ Nourishing and hydrating on my skin
+ Absorbs to a non-tacky almost blurring finish
+ Great for oily skin or someone suffering from large pores
+ Great packaging (loving that bottle is made from sturdy plastic instead of glass)
Cons:
– Contains fragrance and alcohol
– Not suitable for very sensitive skin
– Steep price for the quantity of the product you are getting
