My experience:
Who has ever tried The Body Shop Drops Of Youth™ Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask? If your answer is yes then you will immediately understand what consistency does this Rose Oil Overnight Gel Mask by The Cream Shop has!
Is it gel, gellato, jelly or cream? I still have no idea how they do it but it seems to have it all. Once you dig into the jar it separates like jelly with sharp edges and all. After a minute or so you don’t see the dent from your scooping in the jar. The surface gets perfectly smooth making it look like the product is new and hasn’t been touched.
Same on the skin. Upon the application it first goes on like old good clumpy silicone kit. Once you try to spread it out only more clumps appear. Then it starts to acts like cream leaving the white’ish residue on the skin. Once yo rub it in for some more time and the formula is heated by the skin it turns into thick gel(Gosh, too many words to explain, please see attached images).
The scent of it is a bit more of artificial rose. It doesn’t give you a headache but you definitely will think it is masking something that was put into the jar. after vigorous rubbing into my face and 15 minutes of drying time I am left with the sticky film on my skin. No matter if I use a thin or a thick layer, the end result is tacky-yucky.
Once I get up the net morning, the tackiness is nearly gone and my face feels plumped, hydrated and looks yummy. The hydrating results last on me for an entire day which I like but I doubt I will be purchasing it again. It takes too much time to apply and I can’t get passed the tacky town it leaves on my skin. Same as with The Body Shop one, it is just not my cup of tea. It does good things for the skin though, so if you are a fan of such bouncy masks, get it.
Pros:
+ Alcohol, paraben and sulfate free formula
+ Suitable for all skin types
+ Contains adenosine and vitamine E
+ Somewhat pleasant rose scent that is not overwhelming
Cons:
– Leaves a tacky film on the face
– Smallest amount of product I’ve seen so far amongst Korean sleeping masks
– Wicked consistency
– Long absorption time
