Beauty Water by Son & Park

I was looking at the Beauty Water by Son & Park, a multi-purpose liquid, for about a year and I finally decided to get it. The reason why it took me so long was the ingredient list on this was scaring me off. Still, after some time my curiosity has won and here we are.

My experience:

Beauty Water by Son & Park has been claimed and reclaimed as a holy grail product of many. What threw me off from the beginning, ever since it surfaced in the k-beauty world, was the ingredient list. Of coarse there is a trillion and one of the skin beneficial things but yet again it contains a lot of bad stuff, mainly preservatives and alcohol. I think it is officially the first k-beauty product containing 5 types of parabens. For what reasons the need was so high I don’t know but I assume very few people finish off the big bottle (largest existing is 500ml) within a month or several months. Especially if you want to use it as a toner. The alcohol is also quite high on the list which is very disappointing. If not the alcohol I would maybe even consider repurchasing this product in the future.

As for now my verdict about this thing, it is not worth the money. No matter how good results it may deliver, the probability of damaging your skin in the long run remains high. The bottle of Beauty Water is very classy and simple at the same time. The scent is fresh and citrusy and has a tinge of lavender in it that makes it linger for longer than a normal toner would do. The consistency is same as in water. There is no greasy feel or shine left on the skin after you use it.

So far I’ve tried using it as a toner, micellar water and a DIY mask. To be honest it is mediocre in make-up removal department. My mascara and eyebrow pomade remain put as I splashed regular water on my face and rubbed around with my hands. Beauty water does a better job at removing the littlest debris of dirt left on the skin after oil/foam cleansing. It also leaves skin feeling squeaky clean. I prefer using it as a DIY sheet mask. After such mask my skin is feeling firmed-up and my pores seem smaller. In such manner my skin also feels pretty well hydrated.

Is this product worth the hype? No. There are many other cleansing waters that do much better job and have a perfectly clean ingredient list. The TYF Iceland Cleansing Water for example. Would I recommend it? Maybe only to those with non-problematic skin. Since my skin seems to flare up from the daily use of this product, I’ll pass on it for now. Fingers crossed they will reformulate it in the future.
