My experience:
Blithe Pressed Serum Velvet Yam is such a wonderful product! I am becoming a Blithe addict – after testing some bits and bobs from this brand I am entirely hooked. I can not live without their purple berry splash mask and now that I’ve stumbled across their serums I just don’t know which one to call a favorite. Why? Because they are all so amazing. Considering that my skin is oily and me starting off on the richest advertised pressed serum – Velvet Yam one, could end up being a disaster but no. I fell in love after the first swatch.
The texture of this pressed serum is so silky and smooth. It reminds me of finely whipped high density whipped cream. It is so thick that the swatch on my arm doesn’t slide around the skin when I move my arm. Neither it melts into a liquid blob when it gets warmed up by the skin. Instead it glides over the skin leaving a thin trace of moisture with satin finish. Once it absorbs into the skin there is no tackiness, shine, grease, oil, dullness, dryness, glitter on the skin as sometimes with other skin care items with such rich formula. The finish of it is semi-mate and it looks like the fine lines and deep pores are blurred out. Once the product is settled on my skin I do not feel it on my skin, it is such a great formula that lets my skin breathe. After I run with my fingers over the face I feel it is there. “A silky, velvety feel” is the best way to describe what’s happening on my skin after I use it.
Considering that it is a winter time now, it fits my skin needs like a glove. One thing I am afraid of is that it will be feeling more and more overpowering the warmer it get outside. My goal for now is to use this baby up by the end of this winter and I am almost half way there. I have been using it so often that I am 1/2 way through the 50 ml jar. And I just received it as a present from my hubby in the middle of December. There is definitely some sort of Blithe addiction developing on my end ?
So what does it do exactly, you may ask? It nourishes my skin and works as well as a lifting cream on my face. Considering that this is a serum which you would still lock in under a layer of a barrier cream or a moisturizer, go for a light texture if your skin is combo or oily. I currently use the lightest formulation of barrier cream I currently own – the iUNIK Centella Calming Gel, and it does work great with the pressed serum. If your skin dry go for a bit more heavy duty cream/SPF/foundation. In case your skin is normal, this baby is all your need in your daily regimen (besides toner and SPF cream). I highly recommend this product to all the skin types despite whether it is sensitive or acne prone. Thanks to the amazing texture of the serum there won’t be any pore clogging or irritation. I am so hyped about trying the other two serums from this range (they are flying to me in the mail this moment). Stay tuned for more Blithe reviews.
