My experience:
Very few things in my life can take me out of my "zen" (a.k.a. comfort zone). Today is the day when I got furious. All thanks to the Ettang Modeling Take-out Cup Pack Chlorella. I have purchased all of the modeling cups from their range in order to try them out as I am sucker for that type of masks. My favorite ones are the ones where you have 2 pre-mixed gels and you just pour them together into a bowl, stir, apply and enjoy the next 30 minutes of peace and quiet. Very idiot proof if you may ask.
What is definitely not idiot proof are Ettang masks. They are probably simply made by them. Mask comes in a cup-shaped plastic bowl with lid and a seal where all necessary information is printed. One tricky part though, all details about mixing are in Korean. I've got one of the packets with information in Polish, so me with my 3,5 word vocabulary in that language managed to understand the most important thing - what ratio water to powder should be there in order to avoid adding too much or too little. Easy breezy I thought. But then, after reading directions for the 2nd time, something caught my eye. You have to remove powder out of the container*, add water till the stripe on the wall of the container and then pour the powder back into it, stir and apply. (*while the Breaking Bad theme song is playing on the background)
After figuring out all the small print I proceeded with all the necessary steps and you know what. The powder didn't want to mix at all. It had bunch of clumps, foul smelling green clumps. Why foul smelling? Because Chlorella is very smelly algae. After mixing I decided to apply the mask with spatula. Wrong choice there. Everything started to fall off my face as mask had zero grip. Everything around me including my floors and clothes started to turn green. I eventually ended up using both hands to slap the mask on and hold it on my face till it started to solidify. Solidification started to happen very fast. Clumps were hard and solid at the time when I was still busy applying the mask. Everything in between was hardening at the speed of light.
Directions said 15 minutes, ok, suuuure.... After 15 it was quite dry and I was able to remove it in little chunks. Here the best part. The chunks that were hard now felt softer and when you tried to carefully remove the mask you got splotches of fresh mask on your face and the fresh goo is very, I repeat very hard to remove. I ended up using plastic spatula to scrape the whole thing off my face. You can witness the final result on the image below. Any results? Basic hydration. Will I buy it again? Only for my enemies 🙂 It was now 3rd mask from Ettang and all of them failed miserably. I got 6 more to test out but I doubt I will do it any time soon.
