My experience:
J.ONE Jelly Pack has surfaced to the web couple of years ago and instantly became a topic of conversation. A lot of people loved it, even more hated it. Why? Let’s see. The texture of it has been most hated thing to date. If you are aiming to buy this product for the skicare benefits. Don’t! If you want your make-up sit flawlessly on your skin for an entire day. Get it!
The J.ONE Jelly Pack is a hybrid product that combines skin prime and skin care 2 in 1. It is a translucent liquid that is very viscous and sticky to the touch. If you look at it very close in the light it has small speckles inside that looks to me like a mica powder or a pearl shimmer. The substance is somewhere between gel and glue and the smell of it definitely resembles some glue or silicone sealant. It is masked by something florally-powdery but the first whiff straight from the container tells a different story.
By the way, the container is worth mentioning. The container is beautiful and very sturdy. It has a big J.ONE logo on the front and a vacuum mechanism inside in order to keep the product as fresh as possible. The container is made of opaque white plastic protecting the insides not only from contacting with air but also with the sunlight. A very good example of something that should be done with every product, especially ones containing actives (to date not the case with half of serums I’ve tried containing vitamin C in active form). Sorry, sidelined there for a sec…
Once you pump the product out it starts slowly flowing outwards on your skin. When you try to rub it on the skin to spread it out that’s when it will pill as heck. If you have ever played with a home-made starch Play-Doh, you will know exactly what it feels (looks) like. Basically, the more you rub, the less it absorbs into the skin. Once you adjust your application tactics and apply the product in drops on your face and then start tapping, magic happens. The product starts applying in a very thin layer pulling on your skin. I’ve never seen such a sticky skincare product in my life!!! Just wait for 5 minutes and do nothing to your face after application. Once the product sets (which usually takes about 5 minutes) you are left with a perfect canvas for your foundation or BB/CC cream. The J.ONE Jelly Pack makes it stay forever and ever on your skin without sliding or moving around. It also prevents it from creasing into unwanted wrinkles! Absolute madness but I like it quite a lot. Definitely try it out at a local store or request a sample before you buy it though.
