Yes, yes I know, 2 reviews in one day!!! I’m trying to catch up with somewhat long break I had without being able to publish anything in-between.
“Camellia” is the English name for the Dong baek flower which is used in the MISSHA Flower Sleeping Mask. I liked the Rose mask a lot and simply could resist myself so I bought it as well.
Claims from the manufacturer:
Containing 1,000ppm of fermented camellia oil from Jeju which is excellent for skin nourishing, it provides soft care for the dry skin that becomes exhausted during the day time.
With creamy texture containing full nutrition, it plumps the dry skin with hydration.
Soft camellia fragrance relieves you while you are sleeping.
Directions from the manufacturer:
At the last step of skin care, apply an appropriate amount, avoiding eye and lip area, and take sleep. The next morning, wash your face with lukewarm water.

My experience:
Dong baek flower is a stunning flower that has been used in skin care for centuries. It has a special place in Asian history and there are several legends that surround this plant. I have tried several Camellia plant based products in the past and I’ve had only positive experience with it. (Well, maybe except the Illi mask…)
If I would compare this mask to the Rose one from the same series I’d tell you that there are several obvious differences in terms of color, texture, absorption rate and hydration levels. Oh wait I am comparing them?
The Camellia mask comes in a yellow jar and contains 105 ml of product which is a lot. The texture of the substance inside is between cream and thick gel that is semi-opaque and white. The scent of this mask is a very pleasant, light, airy and floral. Once it is applied to my oily skin it takes about 10-15 minutes for it to be absorbed by the skin. I feel like there is a light thin film left on my skin to protect my skin from drying out. One note that I made for myself is that it would be perfect to use in more colder months. Since it’s a thick gel formulation (much thicker than the Rose one) it would do a beautiful job when the air is cold and dry.
Upon waking-up there is no greasy film on my skin I can just simply rinse what’s left with my morning with just water. I still use my cleanser though because I like a squeaky clean face in the morning. Even after washing my face with foamy cleanser my skin feels well hydrated and that feeling lasts me for a long time. My make-up goes on flawlessly as well. To sum everything up I would definitely recommend it for the use on the cold time of the year or if you have a dry skin. And if your skin is super-duper-dry this mask would be an awesome skin care product for you! Yet again one more great product from MISSHA brand. I start to think they won me over with their products for life.
