NEOGEN Bright Clear Fiber Mask

NEOGEN Bright Clear Fiber Mask is one of those masks that you would in theory love but in actual practice it turns into a global failure. I will not be purchasing it again as I simply can\t justify it's price for the end result I've got after using it. Don't waste your money and go for a nice Bio-cellulose one from The Face Shop and enjoy something that works rather than get as much disappointed as I was.

Claims from the manufacturer:

 Bright Clear Fiber Mask brightens and moisturizes skin with natural ingredients, including extracts of Lily, Plum, Licorice, and Peony root
 Brightens darkened, dull skin, and restores skin's radiance

Directions from the manufacturer:

Fold open and apply mask on cleansed face. Leave on for 15-20 min, then remove gently. Do not rinse. Pat the remaining serum into skin until fully absorbed.

My experience:

NEOGEN Bright Clear Fiber Mask has beed an absolute fail for me. Ingredients list is kind of rubbish because of major alcohol bomb going on. It claims to be brightening but even the basic niacinamide active ingredient is not added to the mix. You can only hope that lily extract will do something on the skin.

The mask comes in a wonderfully designed pouch that is small enough for taking with you on your travels. Inside there is a lovely looking sheet mask soaked in white opaque creamy essence. There is barely no scent to it except the strong alcohol smell. I must confess once I opened the pack I thought twice before applying it on my face. I love NEOGEN and nearly every single product I've tried from them was instant love of mine. This, I can't even thing what the brand was going fro with THIS (sorry for the euphemism).

As for the sheet it is soft and the cut of it is great for my face shape. The adherence is beyond moderate as creamy texture of the essence does not let the mask stick well to the face. In order to pate a picture I was dancing around for 20 minutes with my camera because mask kept peeling off my cheeks and around the nose. After some holding breath moves I managed to take something decent for this post. By that time my face was itching as hell so once I took my shot I ripped it off my face.

I know that I can react badly to the alcohol in sheet masks. Considering that this one DA on 4th place I was saying to myself "It will be fine, NEOGEN does good job by neutralizing damaging action of alcohol in their products". Nope. Itchy, red skin was an immediate effect that luckily went away within 2 hours after I rinsed my face and slapped 3 layers of my ROVECTIN Cica balm (best calming cream in the world). Short sum-up. Never again. Sensitive skin holders - steer clear from this. There is a reason why this mask is not on their official website. It must have been discontinued for the safety of us all.

Cons:

– Contains alcohol and silicone
– Mediocre adherence to the face
– Somewhat hard to get in EU
– Visible skin irritation and increased redness as the end result on my skin
– Strong scent of alcohol
– Lacks brightening active ingredients
– Overpriced for doing what it does
