Today’s review is about the 10 pack set of Pore Refining Lemongrass Facial Masks made by SpaLife. I found them in the TKmaxx, the shop where often snoop around when I am in the city center. Last week they had restocked their sheet mask section so I spent quite a lot of time choosing some masks that I din’t try yet. That’s how I came across this big value pack containing 10 masks in it.
Claims from the manufacturer:
Naturally astringent, Lemongrass tightens skin and constricts pores. Its antibacterial properties help remove impurities and free radicals.
Directions from the manufacturer:
Open package and simply pat mask on face, leave for 20 minutes. Gently remove the mask and lightly massage any remaining serum into your skin. Do not rinse. Discard the mask after single use.
Ingredients:
Water, Glycerin, Methylpropanediol, Cymbopogon Schoenanthus Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Beta-Glucan, Panthenol, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Polysorbate 80, Disodium EDTA, Allantoin, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Sodium Citrate, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Hyaluronate, Chlorphenesin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Propanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Illicium Verum (Anise) Fruit Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance
My experience:
The seal above the ziplock closure was easy to remove. Once I opened the pack I immediately picked up the typical fresh citronella scent. All 10 masks inside the bag are folded along the length and are easy to separate from each other. The cotton sheet is thick and full of essence.
Once I unfolded the sheet I noticed that it is smaller than any other masks I’ve used. After I applied it onto my face and saw that the part above the eyes was quite short, leaving a mask-free gap which was more than a centimeter high. I didn’t like that so I reapplied the mask. By that I won approximately 0,5cm of space and my forehead was not feeling bare anymore.
The sheet is made of very thick cotton that is not too flexible. I feel that with the next application I will be cutting it here and there so that it won’t let so much air under the sheet. I definitely need at leas 3 more cuts. One in the middle of my chin and 2 somewhere in the temple area or on the forehead.
Once applied, my skin felt slight tingling sensation and started to cool off. I thought that mask had menthol in it but the only ingredient I could find that does it to my skin is the witch hazel. It was a pleasant sensation and I think that this type of mask is perfect for people who go on vacation and need some hydration after being in the sun.
The pack said to keep it on for 20 minutes so I did. The final results of this mask were quite pleasant. My skin was well hydrated and had no sticky feel to it. It seemed more brighter and felt definitely tighter, especially in the area around the mouth.
It is definitely a nice mask but if I would be the manufacturer I would reconsider the quality of the sheet used for it.
