After trying out the The Face Shop ECO BEYOND Herb Garden Mask with Hibiscus I was left unamused. If you look at the ingredients list there is much “Wow” happening in terms of anti-aging care. After you use it, the “Wow” is minimized to the levels of “Meeh”.
Claims from the manufacturer:

Made with thin and flexible Cellulose sheet
Directions from the manufacturer:
Funny enough the original manufacturer’s website doesn’t provide you with the information on application. What it says on the sheet mask packaging is the following:
After washing face apply toner. Open the mask and remove the liner. Carefully position the sheet on the face and gently smooth the sheet to ensure good contact with skin. Leave the mask for 15-20 minutes before removal. Gently tap the residue for absorption.

My experience:
I was left unamused after trying this mask out. If you look at the ingredients list there is much wow happening in terms of anti-age. After you use it, the wow is minimized to nearly zero.
The packaging is very pretty and attractive. It almost looks like a small painting, but it its actually a photo of hibiscus flowers. Very fancy. Once I got to the contents that is where things went south for me.
The fit of this mask is very questionable. It was perfect in terms of the size for my face contour but the mouth cutout was too large and the sheet tended to create a huge tent around my nose. I ended up wearing sunglasses for the entire time to press the sheet down so that it wouldn’t bulge. After couples of minutes of wear the edges of the mask started to come of as well. Very poor adherence and fit. Unfortunately that is what you get with the cheap cellulose sheet.
The essence is semi-opaque and was feeling like a gel at first but turns into nearly water consistency once it comes in contact with my face. The entire solution did not want to stay on the mask but instead was vigorously dripping down my chin. It was a big mess in the end so I removed it after 10 minutes.
In terms of the results the ingredients list looked so promising. I was stunned at how many ingredients are anti-aging and are meant to supple out and nourish the skin. In vivo, none of it happened, but my chest area was pretty happy with an unexpected extra nourishment ? My skin was left somewhat hydrated but definitely required more moisture. There were no signs of any brightening, smoothing, soothing or anything else besides extra moisture. Oh well, I try, I learn, I never repeat this one ever again….
